AM/NS India celebrates Women’s Sports Day at Hazira

Hazira-Surat : ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the world’s leading steel manufacturers, celebrated Women’s Sports Day at Hazira on Tuesday.

The event, held at Suvali Beach, saw the enthusiastic participation of over 600 women hailing from various segments of society, including sarpanchs, panchayat members, local residents, school staff, and government employees from the rural belt of Hazira. This initiative was organised in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Gujarat.

Women of all age groups showcased their sporting spirit through an array of activities including 100-metre run and walkathon. A host of fun games, such as lemon and spoon race, musical chair, and balloon blowing competition, were also organised.

Three winners were selected for each game and were awarded attractive prizes for their efforts. Every participant was honoured with thoughtful gifts as a gesture of appreciation for their participation.

Truptiben Patel, President, Taluka Panchayat, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Chetan Patel, the District Sports Development Officer, Tapi, Nikitaben Patel, Talati cum Mantri, Suvali Gram Panchayat, Revaben Patel, Sarpanch, Damka Village, Narmdaben Patel, Deputy Sarpanch, Bhatlai Village, Rinaben Patel, Deputy Sarpanch, Rajgari Village and Dakshaben Patel, Nav Chetan International School, Junagam.
