Surat, June 21, 2025 – Young Indians (Yi) Surat, under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), successfully launched the City Round of the Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2025 at Auro University. This vibrant two-day event brings together student leaders from some of Surat’s most prominent schools to participate in a unique simulation of the Indian Parliament.
The Yi Parliament is not just a model – it’s a movement. With a mission to foster civic awareness, democratic dialogue, and youth leadership, YiP empowers school students to take on real-world issues and navigate the complexities of governance. Students from schools such as Alchemy School, AMNS International School, Agrawal Vidya Vihar, and Ryan International School, among others, are debating policies, presenting bills, and engaging in structured sessions on themes ranging from climate action to digital rights and education reform.
“This platform gives young voices a serious seat at the table,” said Punit Singhal, Chair of Yi Surat. “We’re not just encouraging leadership—we’re enabling it.” Top performers from the Surat round will qualify for the upcoming Regional Round, competing alongside participants from across the country.
Young Indians (Yi), an initiative of CII with over 7,000 direct members and 30,000+ student members, is committed to building a more informed, inclusive, and innovative India through initiatives like Yi Parliament, Masoom (child safety), and youth-driven entrepreneurship programs.
