GIIS students celebrate Plastic Free Week with art from trash

GIIS students reiterate commitment to sustainable goals with Plastic Free Week in school

Students of Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad created art from trash, made cloth and paper bags and segregated non-biodegradable waste as part of the school’s Plastic Free Week initiative.

The initiative, which began from July 25 to 29, is integral to the school’s commitment to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and encourage students to reduce plastic pollution.

During the week, students from Montessori to Grade 5 participated in a range of projects which, among others, helped them identify Sustainable vs Unsustainable activities. The week-long campaign also helped sensitise students about the ill effects of plastic.
