“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”
The quote by Henry Brooks Adams portrays the role of a teacher in our society. Indeed it is a beautiful gesture to express respect to all teachers on this day and motivate them to strive for the best despite several challenges in today’s world. Every year, GIIS Ahmedabad has a tradition of celebrating Teachers’ Day with a special event.
This year ,The Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad expressed gratitude to the teachers by paying a special musical tribute through the ‘Sangeet for Peace’ programme. This ‘Sangeet for Peace’ event was staged by Naad-Niket Academy, New York, USA.
During the event, renowned vocal artists Masoom Abdul Hafeez, Mehmud Hasan, Mohammad Arsalaan Khan mesmerized the audience with their mellifluous performances. Transcending all barriers, the teachers enjoyed a diverse rendition of the Shlokas, Bhajans,Sufi music and some bollywood songs. Tabla was played by Azam Ali Khan, while Sarangi was played by the living legend Liyakat Ali Khan. These vocalists and instrument maestros took us through the world of heavenly music.
Mr. Liyakat Ali Khan, Sarangi maestro, gave a special tribute to legendary Lata Mangeshkar. It is a proud moment for GIIS Ahmedabad to associate with such music maestros who will be representing India in Washington on the occasion of 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
On this special day, the teachers, students and parents came together to create unforgettable memories and celebrate the special bond for their teachers who selflessly work throughout the year for the all-round development of the children.
On this auspicious celebration, the students of GMP to Grade 12 touched their teacher’s feet to express their gratitude, love and affection. To mark this day, they danced, sang, enacted and enjoyed the moment with teachers. The parents shared their thankfulness toward the teachers by sending posters, email, cards, videos and more.
