Hazira-Surat, 18 February 2023: 2 associates of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) have been awarded the prestigious Rajya Shram Ratna Award by the state government. AM/NS India bagged two of the 16 awards for industries in the south Gujarat region.
Bipin Nena of Prince Engeetech, who is serving in the electrical department of AM/NS India’s 500 MW power plant at Hazira, was bestowed the Rajya Shram Ratna Award, the highest honour under the state government’s Rajya Puraskrut Shram Paritoshik (Shram Awards) scheme.
Santosh Kumar of Jagannath Enterprise, who is serving in the HRC division of CRM department, was honoured with the Rajya Shram Vir award.
They were presented the award by Government of Gujarat’s Labour and Employment Minister Balvantsinh Rajput in Gandhinagar. The Rajya Shram Award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, while the Rajya Shram Vir award carries a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Both were also awarded certificates of recognition.

The awards are an inspiration for all of us at AM/NS India,” said Dr. Anil Matoo, Head of Human Resource Operations, IR & Administration at AM/NS India.
The state government has implemented the Rajya Puraskrut Shram Paritoshik (Shram Awards) scheme to encourage and recognize innovative work done by industrial workmen in the field of production, productivity, industrial peace, presence of mind, and steps taken to save the life and limbs of fellow workers and public property at large of the affected area in the event of any calamity/emergency and any special work done for the welfare of workers. Under the scheme, awards are given each year on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti to felicitate deserving workmen.
