ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s Optigal® now commercially available in Gujarat

Surat-Hazira : ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, has announced the commercial availability of Optigal®, a world-class colour-coated steel brand, in Gujarat.

AM/NS India recently hosted a convention in Ahmedabad for channel partners across the state, where Optigal®’s features, including the longest warranty of up to 25 years, superior corrosion resistance and cutting-edge protection, were highlighted. The meeting also facilitated open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and discussions on market trends and future opportunities.

AM/NS India currently has a colour-coated capacity of approximately 700,000 tonnes, with plans to ramp up this capacity to one million tonnes by 2026. With the expansion, the company’s market share is projected to grow from 20-22% today to 25-27%.

Previously available only in international markets, AM/NS India commenced the production of ArcelorMittal patented Optigal® using a unique Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium technology in India last year.

Mr Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), said, “The large turnout of channel partners in Ahmedabad from different parts of the state, one of the key markets for us, reflects their strong interest in Optigal®, a first-of-its-kind product in India. This gathering provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect, share insights on this unique world-class offering, and strengthen our partnerships as we create ‘Smarter Steels, Brighter Futures’. This is in line with our strong focus on customer-centricity and reliability to deliver maximum value to our channel partners. The company also has robust plans to grow the regional and national footprint of Optigal®.”

The versatility of Optigal® makes it a highly attractive option for a wide range of applications, such as roofing, fencing, and cladding for residential and commercial projects, reliable materials for pre-engineered buildings, and high-performance steel for architectural facades, including airports, industrial warehouses, and stadiums.

Gujarat channel partners have enthusiastically welcomed the unique product, expressing optimism about its potential to positively impact their businesses.
