Bengaluru-Based Plyneer Launches India’s First 100-Test Campaign for New Fire-Resistant Product Line

Plyneer backs lifetime warranty claims with extreme performance testing across 100 real-world conditions

Bengaluru, (Karnataka) [India], July 23, 2025: A Bengaluru-based plywood manufacturer is putting its money where its mouth is. Plyneer Industry Pvt. Ltd. has launched what it calls the #100TestChallenge, subjecting its new premium product line to 100 different real-world stress tests before customers see it in stores.

The campaign accompanies the launch of Plyneer Club, a fire-retardant and waterproof plywood that comes with a lifetime warranty. Company founder Abhishek Daga says the testing approach addresses a longstanding problem in the construction materials industry.

“Every plywood company talks about durability,” Daga explains. “But when your kitchen cabinet starts warping after two years, those promises don’t mean much.”

Daga started Plyneer fifteen years ago after growing frustrated with inconsistent plywood quality in the Indian market. His company now serves over a million customers across the country through a network of dealers and direct partnerships with architects.

The new testing campaign puts Plyneer Club through scenarios ranging from extreme humidity exposure to direct flame contact. Other tests simulate termite attacks, heavy load bearing, and repeated moisture cycles that typically cause plywood to deteriorate.

“We’re not hiding behind laboratory certificates,” Daga notes. “These are the actual conditions our plywood will face in Indian homes.”

The timing reflects growing demand for premium construction materials as India’s housing sector expands. Real estate developers and modular furniture manufacturers increasingly specify fire-retardant materials following stricter building safety regulations.

Plyneer Industry Pvt. Ltd. incorporates chemical treatments that prevent fire spread while maintaining structural integrity when exposed to water. The company claims its manufacturing process eliminates the trade-offs typically seen between fire resistance and moisture protection.

The lifetime warranty represents another industry departure. Most plywood manufacturers offer limited warranties covering specific defects. Plyneer’s guarantee covers any structural failure regardless of cause, though normal wear and tear exclusions apply.

“Carpenters tell us they’ve been waiting for a product they can stake their reputation on,” Daga says. “When you’re building someone’s home, you need materials that won’t let you down.”

The company maintains ISI certification under standards IS:5509 and IS:710, meeting government requirements for structural plywood applications. Independent testing laboratories validate each production batch before distribution.

Industry observers note that Plyneer’s testing transparency could pressure competitors to adopt similar validation methods. The construction materials sector has traditionally relied on manufacturer claims rather than public performance demonstrations.

The #100TestChallenge results will be published online as tests conclude, with video documentation of each scenario. Daga expects the campaign to run for six months before full market rollout of the Plyneer Club.

“At the end of the day, people want proof their investment will last,” he concludes. “That’s exactly what we’re giving them.”
