Bihar-Born Jitendra Kumar Maurya Overcomes His Financial Background Through Direct Selling

Bhabua, (Bihar), [India], August 08, 2024: Jitendra Kumar Maurya, who was raised in a remote village in Bihar, is a living example of the value of persistence and direct selling. Growing up in challenging circumstances, Jitendra’s early life was marked by financial struggles and almost zero opportunities.

“When I was a child, there were six of us in our house—mother, father, grandfather, one sister, and two brothers. The condition of our family was very bad; my grandfather and father worked as labourers,” Jitendra recalls. His father’s poor health further strained the family’s resources.

Determined to break free from the cycle of poverty, Jitendra pursued education while staying with his maternal grandparents. However, the harsh realities of village life continued to shape his perspective. “Whenever I went to the village, there used to be slums. It used to rain, and we would get drenched in the rain, even at night. I had seen such conditions very closely,” he shares.

At the age of 13, Jitendra began to understand the importance of financial stability. His experiences in the village, where he witnessed houses catching fire in summer and families getting drenched during monsoons, left a lasting impact. “I realised that it is very important to have a concrete house,” he explains.

Recognising the limitations of traditional employment, Jitendra turned his attention to business opportunities. This adjustment in concentration was prompted in part by the heart-wrenching losses of his father and grandfather in 2010. Unable to afford the blood transfusions necessary to sustain their lives, they succumbed to their illnesses, leaving a profound impact on him. Determined to take a different route, he initially pursued electronics training in Sasaram but soon recognised the potential of Direct Spelling through his maternal uncle.

Despite facing numerous setbacks and spending years in the direct selling industry with minimal earnings, Jitendra remained committed to the field. His initial experience lasted seven years with a company that offered a promising product but an inadequate compensation plan. Eventually, he worked for another four years with a different company that offered an adequate compensation package but struggled with product quality.

Throughout these encounters, Jitendra dealt with financial difficulties, stating, “I kept running around, and I started getting into debt at home because I couldn’t do it. I had no idea what networking products were, what payouts were, or what the system was.”

Jitendra’s persistence eventually paid off. On November 20, 2017, he joined the company Asclepius Wellness Private Limited. This marked a turning point in his career, leading to significant financial success. “In two years, I cleared all the debts from the market. Then in 2018, I purchased a small car,” he says proudly.

The COVID-19 pandemic, rather than hindering his progress, became a period of exponential growth for Jitendra. In 2020, he purchased a car worth 72 lakhs, bought land in his village, and constructed a house worth more than 1.5 crores. Today, Jitendra has a monthly income of thirteen to fourteen lakhs and owns a flat in Banaras worth one and a half crores.

Reflecting on his journey, Jitendra emphasises the importance of patience and learning in the direct selling industry. “If you ever understand this business seriously, this power of compounding, then you will have to learn this business for around two to five years,” he advises aspiring entrepreneurs.

Numerous young Indians who want financial independence find encouragement in Jitendra’s story. In his opinion, direct selling has a competitive edge over regular employment, particularly in the current job market.

“Today, the direct selling industry is a great boon for the youth of our India,” he asserts. Through his experiences, Jitendra shows how determination, coupled with the right opportunity, can result in remarkable success, transforming not just individual lives but entire communities.
