Mumbai Tech Week- Asia’s Largest AI event formally announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis  

Pledges Continued Support for Mumbai’s Tech Ecosystem at Meeting with TEAM

Mumbai, February, 13 2025: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, met with the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM), announcing the government’s continued support for Mumbai’s tech ecosystem and the upcoming Mumbai Tech Week 2025: Asia’s Largest AI Festival.

He emphasized the convening power and importance of this event in solidifying Mumbai’s position as ‘The AI Sandbox of Asia’ and a key driver of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat vision. The Chief Minister formally invited everyone to MTW 2025 via a video message, underscoring the government’s commitment to the partnership with TEAM. Shri Fadnavis expressed his appreciation for TEAM’s impact and efforts to develop Mumbai’s tech landscape, noting their considerable growth to include over 65 founders of leading startups and unicorns, a combined valuation exceeding $60 billion, and a community of over 10,000 members. “Mumbai has long been the bedrock of entrepreneurial activity, and the government, in partnership with TEAM, is committed to supporting new-age entrepreneurs building the city,” he said.

Further, Shri Fadnavis emphasized on the partnership and its focus on nurturing tech talent, building critical infrastructure and fostering innovation. Recognizing Mumbai as India’s safest city for women, Shri Fadnavis stressed the importance of women’s participation in tech and pledged support for related initiatives.
