Hazira-Surat : The Team Technical Service won the football league of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS India), getting the better of Team Rolling Finishing in the final on Friday.
Team Technical Service beat Team Rolling Finishing with a scoreline of 1-0 at the final played at the Hazira Nandniketan’s central ground on Friday evening. The winning team and their supporters erupted in joy as they were declared the winners of the AM/NS Football League. The winner’s trophy was handed to Team Technical Service by Anil Matoo, Head of HR, IR, and Administration at AM/NS India. Other senior officials and heads of departments were also present at the closing ceremony.
The AM/NS Football League, which began on May 17 at AM/NS India’s Hazira township, saw 16 teams facing off in 12 matches of 40 minutes each. A total of 246 employees and officials of AM/NS India Hazira took part in the league.
The two semifinals were played on May 25. Team Technical Services had reached the final by winning 4-2 in a penalty shootout against team SMP 2, while Team Rolling-Finishing beat Iron Zone 2 with a 1-0 scoreline in the second semifinal.
