Unseeded Poojan upsets 8th seed Malav in opening round

Gandhidham: Unseeded Poojan Chandrana of Bhavnagar caused an upset when he thrashed 8th seed Malav Panchal of Ahmedabad in the junior boys’ (U-17)  first round of the GNFC 2nd State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament on Friday organised by the Bharuch District Table Tennis Association (BDTTA) in support with S&R Club, GNFC under the aegis of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA).

The Bhavnagar paddler did not give Malav a sniff as he ran away with the match 3-0 (11-8, 11-8, 11-7).
