Gujarat’s Jeet grabs gold in Dumb and Deaf national TT meet

Ahmedabad : Top seed Jeet Pandya of Gujarat crushed second seed Abhishek Barman of West Bengal 3-0 to bag the gold medal in the boys U-16 category of the 8th Dumb and Deaf Sub-Junior and Junior National championship organised by Emerald Height International school, Indore, under the aegis of All India Sports Council of Deaf, on Saturday.
The 15-year-old Ahmedabad lad, who was the defending champion, came up with a dominant performance during the whole tournament. Jeet won his quarterfinal match 3-1 against Haryana’s Harshit without much ado and didn’t break a sweat in his semis encounter too where he went past Prayas Saha (WB) 3-1.
Jeet, class 7 student of Umang Badhir Sikshan Sankul, is currently honing his skills at St Xavier’s, Loyola TT academy in Ahmedabad under the watchful eyes of Anthony Gomes and dreams to represent India at international level.
