Karnataka Tourism Roadshow in Surat Unveiled Its Tapestry of Natural Splendour, Heritage, Culture, and Hospitality

The Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, hosted an engaging Roadshow in Surat, Gujarat, at the Surat Marriott Hotel on 21st August 2023. The event was attended by over 150 travel trade representatives, media professionals, and esteemed guests who came together to witness the glory of Karnataka’s tourism offerings.

The Roadshow aimed to showcase the diverse and captivating attractions that Karnataka has to offer, ranging from its rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, pristine beaches, lush green landscapes, wildlife sanctuaries, and modern urban experiences.

Dr. Ramprasath Manohar Varatharajan, the Director of the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka attended the Roadshow. Their esteemed presence was accompanied by Shri. Ratnakar HT, Tourism Advisor, Jungle Lodges & Resorts, Smt. Poovappa MT, Manager, Jungle Lodges & Resorts, Shri. Saikat Das, Manager, KSTDC and a dedicated group of stakeholders from Karnataka, all of whom played a pivotal role in ensuring the Roadshow’s resounding success. 

The evening commenced with interactive Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, providing tour operators and travel agents with an opportunity to establish connections and explore potential collaborations with Karnataka’s tourism officials and stakeholders. The focal point of the evening was the audio-visual presentation showcasing Karnataka Tourism, where captivating visuals vividly portrayed the natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality that define the essence of Karnataka. Following this presentation, an engaging Q&A session allowed participants to delve deeper into the spectrum of tourism offerings in Karnataka.

The Roadshow splendidly honoured Karnataka’s abundant cultural legacy with a captivating showcase of Yakshagana, a traditional dance form that vividly portrayed the artistic magnificence of the state. The evening concluded with a networking session, providing attendees with a valuable opportunity to engage with Karnataka tourism representatives and fellow guests.
