Narayan Seva Sansthan to organise free Narayan Limb & Callipers Camp in Surat on Sunday

Surat, February 20: Rajasthan’s prestigious and nationally awarded NGO, Narayan Seva Sansthan, in collaboration with Shri Shantaben Tribhuvandas Patel Charitable Trust and TM Patel International School, is organising a free camp for the welfare of differently-abled individuals in Gujarat. The camp will take place at Althan-Bhatar Community Hall, near Soham Circle in Surat on February 23.

Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Media and Public Relations Director Bhagwan Prasad Gaur said that the organisation is dedicated to uplifting individuals who have lost their limbs due to accidents or illnesses, helping them transition from a life of struggle to one of independence.

Inspired by Padma Shri recipient and founder Kailash Manav, the organisation has been serving humanity and differently-abled individuals for the past 40 years. In line with its mission to assist the differently-abled in Gujarat, the free disability correction surgery selection and Narayan Limb & Callipers Measurement Camp will take place from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Addressing a press conference, Director Gaur mentioned that this free camp marks the 1,055th event under Narayan Seva Sansthan’s “Well to the Thirsty” initiative. A team of experienced orthotists and prosthetists will assess the differently-abled individuals and conduct casting and measurements for high-quality, lightweight and durable Narayan Limbs. After approximately two months, a free modular artificial limb distribution camp will be organised based on these measurements.

Harish Patel, Chairman of Shri Shantaben Tribhuvandas Patel Charitable Trust, said that all attending patients and their families will be provided free meals, tea and refreshments. The camp’s smooth operation will be managed by a 40-member team from Narayan Seva Sansthan, along with 35 volunteers. Additionally, various committees have been formed to ensure smooth arrangements for the differently-abled.

The camp’s Coordinator and Surat Branch In-charge, Achal Singh Bhati, said that Gujarat’s public representatives, ministers and donors have been invited to the event. The organisation’s technical and logistics team will arrive by Friday to oversee the arrangements. The event has been widely publicised and 450 individuals have already pre-registered for the camp.

Director Bhagwan Gaur urged differently-abled individuals to take advantage of this initiative. Interested participants are required to bring their Aadhaar card, disability certificate and two passport-sized photographs. For further information, they may contact the helpline at 7023509999.

Established in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working with the motto “Service to Humanity is Service to God”. Founder Kailash Manav has been honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India for his humanitarian work. Under the leadership of President Prashant Agarwal, the organisation has empowered lakhs of differently-abled individuals through medical aid, education, skill development and sports academies. In 2023, Mr. Agarwal was awarded the Presidential Honour. To date, the organisation has provided over 40,000 artificial limbs and is expanding its efforts to provide free artificial limbs to differently-abled individuals in Gujarat, helping them regain mobility and lead an independent life.
