Surat: TM Patel International School (TMPIS), Surat, celebrated National Reading Week with interactive storytelling sessions for students of Grades 1 and 2, encouraging young learners to develop a love for books and reading from an early age.
Teachers from different sections brought stories to life through expressive narration, voice modulation and creative props. Students participated enthusiastically, listening to stories, asking questions and sharing their favourites. The sessions helped strengthen communication skills while encouraging creativity, curiosity and imagination.
The celebration, held as part of National Reading Week observed in honour of P. N. Panicker, widely known as the Father of the Library Movement in India, highlighted the importance of cultivating strong reading habits among children.
K. Maxwell Manohar, Director and Principal, TM Patel International School, said, “Reading opens the door to imagination, knowledge and lifelong learning. Through initiatives like National Reading Week, we encourage children to discover the joy of books and grow into confident, curious learners.”
