Rotomag invests in Su-vastika to power India’s clean energy transition

Strategic collaboration aims to scale AI-powered lithium energy storage systems, EV tech, and backup power infrastructure

Gurugram (Haryana) [India]: In a major development for India’s clean-tech ecosystem, Gurugram-based energy technology company Su-vastika Systems Pvt. Ltd. has received a strategic investment from Rotomag Enertec Ltd, a prominent player in energy-efficient motors, gearboxes, EV drive systems, and solar-powered pumping solutions. The move marks a critical inflection point in Su-vastika’s journey to scale up its advanced energy storage and power backup solutions across India and international markets.

Su-vastika, led by Kunwer Sachdev, the pioneering founder of Su-Kam Power Systems and often called the “Inverter Man of India,” is focused on lithium-based battery energy storage systems (BESS), AI-enabled power management platforms, and off-grid solar infrastructure. His co-founder, Khushboo Sachdev, drives operations and strategic growth at the company.

“This partnership with Rotomag is not just about capital—it’s about shared vision,” said Kunwer Sachdev. “Together, we aim to fast-track innovation in intelligent power solutions, enhance reliability, and deliver scalable, Made-in-India products that meet global standards.”

Rotomag, founded by Umesh Balani, has a strong international footprint and deep R&D capabilities. “Su-vastika is building the future of energy in India,” Balani said. “Their product innovation and mission-driven leadership resonate with our own values. We see this collaboration as an opportunity to co-create impactful energy solutions for India and beyond.”

Sachdev, who transformed India’s inverter industry during his tenure at Su-Kam, will continue to provide strategic guidance to Su-vastika’s R&D and operational teams. He will work closely with the product, engineering, and customer experience divisions to drive technical excellence and ensure successful execution of upcoming projects.

“While new leadership and partnerships take shape, I will continue to mentor our teams and support innovation across product verticals,” Sachdev said. “Our goal is to lead India’s transition to smart, efficient and sustainable power systems.”

Su-vastika is currently among the few Indian companies to have deployed indigenous BESS systems up to 200 kVA, with fully integrated IoT-based remote monitoring capabilities. Its solutions range from lift backup devices and solar inverters to lithium-ion batteries and institutional EV charging stations.

Rotomag’s investment is also expected to bolster manufacturing capacity and supply chain resilience. With its subsidiaries—Rotomotive Powerdrives India Ltd and Cyclo Transmission Ltd—the company serves clients in over 40 countries and offers custom-engineered drive solutions for industrial and commercial sectors.

The synergy between the two companies is built on more than just complementary product lines. It reflects a broader commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy transition in line with national goals. The government has set an ambitious target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, and decentralized energy solutions like Su-vastika’s BESS and solar kits are expected to play a vital role.

“We are aligned with India’s Make-in-India and clean energy missions,” said Khushboo Sachdev, director at Su-vastika. “Rotomag’s investment and industrial expertise empower us to build for scale and deepen our market footprint.”

The partnership is expected to open new R&D avenues in the fields of grid-scale energy storage, predictive maintenance via AI, and smart mobility. With energy resilience, sustainability, and digital control as central themes, both firms are now poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of India’s energy infrastructure.
