The Institute of Hotel Management rings in Christmas with pomp and gaiety!

Hyderabad, December 25th 2021: The Institute of Hotel Management, a premier hotel management academic institute run under the aegis Department of Tourism, Government of India; hosted Gala Christmas festivities at its premises at DD Colony, today. The institute was decked for the occasion to ring in the aura unique of Christmas with Christmas trees, Ornaments, Ribbons, Swags, Poinsettias, Candles and the student Santas made the celebrations joyous and vivacious.

Students added glitter and flavours to the event using the best of their culinary skills and dishing out a variety of traditional Christmas delicacies including salads, soups, breads, main course, roasts, desserts and more. There was loads of fun and frolic with the singing of carols, dancing and merry-making. The students formed multiple committees of catering, cultural, literary, sports etc., to make the event a roaring success. They exhibited their innate creative talent in various functions of designing, decoration, planning of menu, organising and actively involved in making the celebrations flawless and a huge success. 

Dr Dayakar Rao, Principal Scientist, Indian Institute of Millets Research; was the guest of honour, the Government of India has earmarked the year 2023, as the year of Millets and this was an apt occasion to familiarise the budding hospitality professionals about the beneficial aspects of millets in our diet. Seasoned professionals from leading hospitality chains were amongst the audience, trying to spot their future recruits. Also present on the occasion were Sanjay K Thakur, Principal; HoDs G.S. Vivek Anand and Saraswathi S and faculty Rachna, Puneet Razdan, Sam Nirmal, Kamble Babla, A. Suresh, P. Suresh; Meenakshi,  Suman, Rajesh, Padma Rao, Arpan Roy, Parul Gupta, Bhola Kumar, Vamshi Naidu,  Shantanu, Dileep, Swamynath, Rambabu and Devender.

The Institute of Hotel Management has been celebrating various festivals including Christmas for the past several decades to inculcate traditional values, culture, history and cuisine associated with such festivities, among the students.
